Welcome to life
Birth
Every year, more than 500 piglets are born in our facilities, surrounded constantly by their mothers and enjoying confortable conditions.
They will be breastfeeding for few weeks and progresivelly will enjoy the freedom in the meadows.
Childhood
Weaning
At the age of two months they will join the rest of the group in big fended meadows, and start exercising and enjoy every corner of this land.
Thanks to this exercise and a natural feeding they will acquire excellent properties, which are determinant for the taste of the Pata Negra.
18 months
Life in the meadows
During the last part of their lives, the Cerdo Ibérico enjoys the best meadows of the world, in Extremadura.
For three entire months they eat exclusively acorns, grass and some other elements naturally present in the meadows such as truffles or mushrooms.
Our family tradition, dedication and care, come together to grow an Iberian Pig with recognized gastronomic prestige all over the world.
